The GREEN HEROES Programme recognises the 'green' efforts that have made a positive difference to the world around us. It constitutes a dedicated initiative that attempts to induct the youth into the Greenolution movement. For this purpose, a dedicated training session to groom more and more people, especially youngsters, is being organised by Tata Power. This will be one of the major steps taken in steering the potential of the Green Hero inductees in the right direction, and developing a deeper appreciation of the subject matter.
GREEN HEROES will be Tata Power's ambassadors of eco-awareness with specific targets to initiate the green cause and the freedom to choose the cause as well. They will also gather momentum to the ongoing movement by motivating others to actively participate in Greenolution. It is expected that the first impetus will come from Tata Power employees, Club Enerji members and the Tata Power customers who are willing to take responsibilities proactively.
The Programme communication is reinforced through the official Greenolution web portal, offline collaterals, interactive presentations and other merchandise that will engage Tata Power's external stakeholders, like customers, shareholders and youth across the country.
Highlights of the GREEN HEROES programme in its first phase will include:
Implementation of 100% recycled paper usage in office
Tree plantation at all our plants and site locations
Saving water at our plants, office and site locations
Saving fuel through carpooling and other initiatives
Waste Management at our offices
Energy conservation and efficiency initiatives at all our locations and outside
Reducing air travel and using webcast/video conferencing facilities
Participation in 'Clean your city' drives and campaign
Visit to manufacturing and industrial units, retailers, petrol pumps, corporates etc. to make presentation on how they can make a difference through simple changes in ways of operation.
So...Be prepared to take up the Greenolution cause. Come and be a part of this movement, and power a greener world.
